BATHROOM specialist Hansgrohe has launched the Hansgrohe@home bathroom planning app version 3.0 which lets clients plan their bathrooms and try out shower solutions in a virtual space.

Hansgrohe says the bathroom is one of the most complex spaces in the home with lots of different elements such as tiles, ceramic fixtures, mixers, electrical installations and plumbing to consider.

“The best way to achieve a dream bathroom begins at the planning stage, which is an important step in the design process,” says Dirk Schilmoeller, sales director Middle East for Hansgrohe.

This is why  Hansgrohe is supporting its customers with the Hansgrohe@home app, which ensures the planning is fun and creative by letting users step into their virtual bathroom, he adds.

“When visiting bathroom showrooms, it’s so easy and quick to try out if the desired mixer suits a particular wash basin, or which shower cabin makes for an ideal match for a Hansgrohe shower solution,” says Schilmoeller.

The new app, which is available for iPad, iPhone and Android devices, brings interior design solutions to the virtual bathroom. With the expanded version 3.0, users can now virtually design their shower area as well as the wash basin zone themselves.

The app’s mode of operation is straightforward and lets users take a photo of the existing wash basin or shower area, and then remove the mixers and showerheads they want to replace with a simple finger swipe. They then select the desired product from the current Hansgrohe product portfolio and virtually place it in the desired location.

Also available for selection are the shower solutions from the new Raindance Select product range. Users can choose between shower sets with mixers, combinations of hand and overhead showers, as well as a pre-assembled shower pipe integrating all the components in a single system.

Explaining the use of the app, Schilmoeller says the first step is to decide whether to produce a virtual design of the shower zone or the wash basin area. “Next, take a photo of the existing bathroom area, and then remove the old mixer with a finger swipe. Now choose from the wealth of the Hansgrohe product range and place the desired mixer from the Metris, Talis, Focus or PuraVida lines in the photograph.”

Mixers and even the shower solutions can be rotated and scaled to suit. The photo of the dream bathroom solution can be sent by e-mail, and stored for later use. The Hansgrohe@home 3.0 app is available in 13 languages and can be downloaded free of charge from the Android Marketplace via Google Play and from the iTunes Store at http://itunes.com/app/hansgrohehome.

The app has already been downloaded over 90,000 times.
