MAN at The Big 5 ... meeting demand.

MAN Truck & Bus showcased its world-class trucks for the construction segment and comprehensive service programmes at The Big 5 construction expo last month in Dubai, UAE.

These trucks exhibit all the MAN trademarks of extraordinary power and efficiency, says Darwish Bin Ahmed and Sons (DBA), the exclusive distributor of MAN in the UAE, which marked 20 years of partnership with the German truck maker at The Big 5 2014.

MAN showcased its most robust vehicle, the TGS 41.480 8x8 truck, specially designed for use in rough off-road conditions such as the desert. The vehicle can be used in various application like oilfields, maintenance of high-voltage cables, crane operations and many more special off-road tasks.

Additional trucks displayed included the TGS 40.360 6x4 chassis mounted with an 18 cu m tipper body, the most popular tipper truck for the construction industry. The third truck promoted was the TGS 41.360 8x4 chassis mounted with 10 cu m concrete mixer.

“The continued development of the regional construction industry along with the government’s focus on infrastructure development bodes well for the sector and is a positive sign for MAN Truck and Bus,” says Markus Geyer, the head of sales, Middle East and Africa (MEA) region, Man Truck and Bus.

Abdulla Darwish, the chairman of DBA, says: “We are pleased to celebrate our long and successful strategic alliance with MAN to sell and support their high quality trucks and buses, and we look forward to many more years of satisfying our mutual customers with premium products and services.”

“The trust and co-operation between our companies drives our joint success, and we are well-positioned to capture exciting infrastructure development opportunities in the UAE,” he states.

Mohammed Razzaqi, the product manager, Truck, Bus & Equipment Division, DBA, points out that MAN vehicles were distinguished by their robustness, reliability, comfort and value for money.

“Our excellent partnership with MAN Truck & Bus in the UAE has resulted in a stellar reputation for MAN as the preferred supplier of heavy-duty trucks for the construction industry,” he adds.

At The Big 5, MAN also promoted its education campaign for ProfiDrive Training modules, which was in focus on last year’s exhibition.

The training can lead up to a 10 per cent reduction in fuel consumption alone through better vehicle handling and economical driving techniques. MAN has more than 30 years of experience with the ProfiDrive training and currently conducts this in more than 25 countries around the world.
