South Korea’s Doosan and China’s Shandong Electric Power Construction Corporation (Sepco III) have won a contract to deliver 90 MW-class steam turbines and generators for the Salalah Two independent power project (IPP) in Oman.

Sepco III is a global engineering corporation that specialises in the construction of various types of power plants, including thermal, nuclear, gas, hydro, wind, transformer substation, biomass, photovoltaic, solar energy and sea water desalination.

Banking on its proven expertise in turbine manufacturing and production capacity and close partnership with Sepco III, Doosan beat leading players including Siemens and Alstom and successfully won its first project with the Chinese firm to supply power equipment, said the company.
