SSH, a leading architecture and engineering firm in the region, has won an award from  the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training (PAAET) for the design and construction supervision of a major educational project in Kuwait.

SSH will deliver the Technology, Business, Healthcare and Education Complex project located in the south of Al Oyoon area in the Jahra Governorate, in a joint venture with US-based Perkins Eastman and Soor Engineering Bureau.

SSH said its extensive knowledge of the local urban architectural landscape, customs and traditions, expertise in applicable codes and regulations, and progressive education capabilities, will contribute to giving shape to the project, which was launched in April last year.

With a built-up area of 230,000 sq m, the project will comprise four educational clusters and administration buildings.

Meanwhile, SSH won a major contract to design a sewage treatment plant for an ongoing waterfront residential development in Kuwait. The massive Sabah Al Ahmad Sea City, a 6.4-million-sq-m waterside residential project, will come up at Khiran, about 85 km south of capital, Kuwait City. It is being developed by La’ala Al Kuwait Real Estate Company.

The sewage treatment plant will have a capacity of 45,000 cu m a day and will use sequencing batch reactor (SBR) technology, said SSH.
