Tabreed wins funding for DC plant

National Central Cooling Company (Tabreed) said it has completed the signing of a Dh193-million ($53 million) long-term limited recourse project finance facility with Emirates NBD for its upcoming district cooling plant in Dubai.

A leading Abu Dhabi-based district cooling utility infrastructure company, Tabreed said the plant at Dubai Parks and Resorts is now nearing completion and will be commissioned in time for the park’s opening.

In 2014, Tabreed had signed a long-term concession to provide 45,600 refrigeration tons (RT) of cooling to the new Dubai Parks and Resorts development in Jebel Ali.

 

Emitech secures SME ranking

Emitech, a leading engineering and innovative solutions provider, has secured a top place in Dubai SME100 2015 ranking, which recognises the 100 best-performing small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the emirate.

It secured the 21st rank in the programme that identifies the top performing SMEs in Dubai.

Organised every two years, the Dubai SME 100 ranking is based on a weighted combination of financial and non-financial themes such as growth performance, financial soundness, innovation, human capital development and international orientation.

 

Key aviation centre delivered

Global programme management consultancy Turner & Townsend has delivered General Electric’s (GE) distinct aviation engineering centre in Dubai, which seeks to help fast-growing airlines in the Middle East to dramatically cut costs, increase efficiencies and reduce risk.

The GE Middle East Aviation Technology Center, based at Dubai International Airport Free Zone, will be an innovation hub for major airlines based in the region. Turner & Townsend provided project and cost management expertise to plan, design and build the $7-million software laboratory and offices in just 11 months.

The 2,000-sq-m centre will be home to data scientists and software developers.

 

Schon hands over business park

Schon Properties has announced the successful delivery of its new  business park project in Dubai.

The Schon Business Park, spread over 1.6 million sq ft, features facilities that offer occupants and users an innovative and profitable experience, such as two basement levels with 1,300 car parks; a ground floor exhibiting over 72 retail outlets catering to the food and service industry and three floors of 304 sizable offices.
