Qatari real estate developer Ezdan Holding Group is gearing up to launch its QR4.5-billion ($1.23 billion) mixed-use project featuring as many as 8,679 apartments and several commercial establishments, said a report.

The Ezdan Oasis in Al Wukair, Qatar, will boast two 24,500-sq-m hypermarkets, five sports clubs and eight mosques as well as two schools, both with a capacity of 1,408 students each, reported the Gulf Times, citing a top official.

“More than 60 per cent of the project is ready and the first phase is set for commissioning early next year,” remarked Ezdan Holding Group CEO Ali Mohamed Al Obaidli at last month’s Cityscape Qatar.

When completed, the Oasis project would accommodate more than 35,000 residents. It is spread over an area exceeding one million sq m, it added.

Apart from the Oasis project, the company’s Ezdan Malls will be ready for commissioning in Al Wakra and Al Wukair in the next six to 12 months. Two of the company’s hotels – The Curve in Doha West Bay and Ezdan Hotel in Al Gharaffa – would also be ready in the coming months, said the report.
