Geberit unveiled a wide range of its latest innovations at a key launch event held at the Four Seasons Resort Dubai at Jumeirah Beach in the UAE, which was attended by more than 100 designers and architects.

These included a new sand-coloured glass cover for the Monolith family, two rimless urinal ceramics, a concealed cistern and actuator plates.

Elaborating on the Monolith range, a spokesman for the company says: “The Monolith sanitary modules for WCs (water closets) offer attractive alternatives to an exposed cistern, thanks to their timelessly elegant design and versatile usability. With their water-saving dual flush and first-class materials, even the basic models meets high demands.”

Besides introducing the new colour, Geberit has also made installation even easier.

“An elegant base unit made of glass and brushed aluminium contains the complete sanitary technology and supports the WC ceramic appliance. But installation is still quick and easy, and involves low levels of construction dust, dirt and noise annoyance,” the spokesman explains.

The Monolith sanitary module is available in two construction heights at 101 cm and – suitable for the Geberit Monolith for washbasins – at 114 cm, and comes in three models for wall-hung WCs, floor-standing WCs and Geberit AquaClean. In addition, the glass front is available for all models in black, white, umber and sand.

The collection has already received several international awards for its impressive design concept.

Meanwhile, the Monolith Plus sanitary module brings an extensive selection of convenience functions to the Geberit Monolith family. “It’s amazing how much intelligent technology is concealed behind this beautiful exterior. From the sensor-controlled switch-on function to the soft-touch actuation and the integrated odour extraction unit, Geberit Monolith Plus makes a real impression with its state-of-the-art technology and design,” says the spokesman.

Thanks to its economical water consumption, the Geberit Monolith sanitary module for WCs has achieved the highest efficiency rating (A) on the Water Efficiency Label (WELL label of EUnited Valves, the union of European valves manufacturers, which mainly work on sustainable product solutions).

The new urinals launched at the event included two rimless ceramics, Preda and Selva, both of which were developed by Geberit. They have an inner geometry that matches the spray head – which has also been newly developed – and ensures an optimal flushing out of the urinal, even at the smallest flush volume of 0.5 litres, according to the spokesman.

Both ceramic appliances are available in three versions – with an integrated control, with the tried-and-tested concealed urinal control or for waterless operation. The integrated urinal flush control – another Geberit innovation – is located in an easily accessible point beneath the ceramic appliance, which significantly reduces maintenance work. The trap and spray head are also positioned with easy maintenance in mind – unobstructed access is possible at all times without removing the ceramic appliance, he says.

“The Geberit urinal system offers sanitary engineers and plumbers the opportunity of implementing an optimal solution for any construction situation. From an economical water flush to an individually programmable hybrid mode or operation entirely without water – all options are possible. This is due to the fact that all components have been carefully coordinated with each other,” the spokesman adds.

Also as the urinals are rimless, it reduces cleaning work, improves hygiene and prevents the build-up of unpleasant odours.

Despite a uniform design, the differences between both models are immediately apparent. While the Preda model has a sleek appearance thanks to its compact dimensions, the Selva makes a more robust, solid impression.

A trap adapter allows the hybrid trap to be used in ceramic appliances from other suppliers, meaning users can benefit from the advantages of Geberit technology without replacing their ceramic appliance.

Meanwhile, the concealed cistern – Alpha 8 cm – is a front actuation unit with its own range of attractive actuator plates. Geared specifically to the medium range residential market in the region, the Alpha cisterns cover all the needs on a building site and are equipped with a high-end flush valve and a top fill valve exceeding Sound Class One requirements. The Alpha actuator plates come in five designs in four different finishes – white alpine, bright chrome-plated, matt chrome-plated and jet black – and are made of high quality plastic.

The new actuator plates that marked their regional launch include the Sigma20, Sigma30 (new for 2016) and Sigma60, as well as the Alpha01, Alpha30, and Alpha50.
