Peri will come to Saudi Build exhibition this month (October) armed with a rich portfolio of scaffolding and formwork products that boast high safety and efficiency – some of which have already created a stir at bauma, the world’s leading construction equipment show in Germany.

At Saudi Build, the German formwork specialist will officially launch in the kingdom its revolutionary Duo, a universal formwork system made of polymers and designed for the construction of columns, slabs and walls.

“It is a fantastic system that uses a completely new material and you can use the same components for different applications. Also, it does not rely on plywood, which is a great savings potential,” says Bjoern Albinus, managing director of Peri Saudi Arabia.

He says Peri has received highly positive feedback from customers using the Duo in Saudi Arabia for an array of applications, such as foundations, walls, columns and slabs. 

Peri Saudi Arabia is a fully fledged subsidiary of the Peri Group offering a comprehensive range of formwork, scaffolding and construction-related components such as plywood. It has become a one-stop shop for contractors, no matter the project type or whether they wish to buy or rent its materials. 

Also showcased at Saudi Build 2016 will be its Peri Up, an industrial scaffolding system; Lico, column formwork; Domino wall formwork; Skydeck slab formwork; the DK + SK anchor systems; as well as a range of plywood, props and girders and safety components.

Peri comes to Saudi Build following a very successful launch of its new innovative products at bauma held in Munich, Germany, in April. At bauma, Peri presented an all-new façade scaffold dubbed Peri Up Easy and the Duo, among a range of systems.

Incorporating the highest level of safety and efficiency and offering a high saving potential, Peri’s formwork is being employed on many major projects in Saudi Arabia.

Its biggest ongoing job is the huge IMC (increasing Mataf capacity) project in Makkah, where it is helping to realise the expansion of the Mataf at the Grand Mosque. In addition, it has several other projects to which it is supplying its systems, including smaller housing complexes in the Eastern Province; a commercial complex, a residential tower and the metro project in Riyadh; as well as a residential building in Jeddah, just to name a few. 

The leading global formwork supplier has expert knowledge to provide advice on all possible applications, says Albinus.

Peri has experts covering all the regions of Saudi Arabia through offices in Riyadh, Al Khobar and Jeddah, where its central 35,000-sq-m stockyard is located.

 “It doesn’t matter if a customer needs support in building a bridge or a smaller housing unit, we can provide any project type with a complete solution that allows for substantial savings. This is because all of our products embrace the idea of safety and efficiency, which results in very simple handling and strong performance,” he says.

“This in the end translates into huge savings for contractors compared to the costs for systems that were the standard before,” he adds.

“For example, our Peri Up scaffolding can be used for many applications, thanks to its modular layout. It does the job while offering a lot more safety and flexibility than other scaffolding options in the market.”

A key feature of the Peri Up scaffolding is its versatility, says the spokesman.  “First you might want to use it as a shoring solution and after completing the structure, it can be easily transformed into a façade scaffold. That means substantially lower material quantities, lower transportation costs and of course faster site operations can be achieved,” Albinus says.

Commenting on the challenges faced by formwork suppliers in the market, Albinus says: “It is obvious that construction activities in Saudi Arabia are well below figures of previous years and price levels are not sustainable either. This affects all market players.

“Peri, however, is weathering this storm quite well and our figures are at an all-time high. This is because we have a solid business case and are not dependent on a certain market segment or product. Also, we focus on strong engineering support and have very close relationships with our clients, which makes the difference in the end.”

Peri last year expanded its operations massively, so it has the required set-up in place for the next years to come. In addition, it has plans in hand for further expansion if required, Albinus says.
