Khalaf discusses the Hi-Finity system with clients.

Reynaers Middle East launched the latest generation of its windows series MasterLine 8, alongside a wide range of its popular aluminium profile systems, at the Windows, Doors and Facades (WDF) conference and exhibition held in Dubai, UAE, recently.

“The event and timings was just right for the launch of our latest windows series MasterLine 8,” commented Ali Khalaf, managing director of Reynaers Middle East, the regional office of the Belgium-based aluminium profiles provider.

The inaugural edition of Windows, Doors and Facades, held at the Dubai World Trade Centre in September (18 to 20), was the first event of its kind where specialist companies came together from this niche segment of the building and construction industry.

Commenting on the success of the event, Khalaf added: “We have met people related to the windows, doors and facades all under one roof.  We know the importance of being involved; this event will have a very big impact on the building industry.”

As WDF was a dedicated event for the sector, it meant that Reynaers was placed alongside its competitors, but Khalaf believes that “competition is healthy as consumers always welcome a large varieties of products and services in one venue”.

A total of 111 brands exhibited their products from 18 countries across four pavilions and 5,000-plus visitors attended the show.

“The Reynaers stand was visited by 300-plus visitors which mainly included aluminium fabricators, consultant and architects and general contractors,” he said.

The event was attended by Andreas Wilsdorf, Reynaers vice-president CSO and Centre of Excellence DMM at the Reynaers Aluminium head office in Duffel, Belgium. Several members of Reynaers’ technical, marketing, sales and logistics teams were also present at the stand to attend to the queries of customers.

MasterLine 8, which was displayed at the stand both as a full element and as a corner section sample, was most popular as visitors were interested in the actual functioning and visual appeal of an oversized window which was large enough to be presented as a door, Khalaf remarked.

The MasterLine 8 concept offers three design variants, each with its own distinct look and feel. It has opening options for vents of different sizes, such as single and double balcony doors with minimal thresholds for both inward and outward opening. The system can be easily integrated with other Reynaers systems, such as CP 130 and CP 155 sliding systems, the new glass balustrade, the Mosquito system, and the CW 50 curtain-wall system.

The other systems that attracted attention at the Reynaers stand included the sliding systems Concept Folding CF 77 and the Hi-Finity luxury series.

“Hi-Finity is Reynaers’ latest innovation of an ultra-slim design which creates large transparent surfaces, with a light, sleek and elegant appearance,” Khalaf explained. “Despite the minimal visual sidelines, the system’s high strength allows Hi-Finity to carry the weight of a large glass pane up to 500 kg. This is in combination with the high performance and the minimalistic look, making this product the best solution for low-energy contemporary architecture. This system is burglar-resistant, Class RC2, offering a safe and secure solution.”

The CF 77 offers people the opportunity to maximise space utilisation, drawing the external environment into their premises, while benefiting on daylighting and an aesthetical design.

“The standalone solution comprises new profiles, accessories and insulation technologies that have specifically been designed for folding systems. It ensures high insulation values (Uf values up to 2.22 W/sq m K and Uw up to 1.68 W/sq m K with an Ug of 1.1 W/sq m K for a three-panel configuration measuring 2,700 by 2,300 mm) that meet stringent legislation requirements as well as market demands well into the future,” Khalaf added.

He continued: “Reynaers was the only company to display a multilevel façade, a CW 50-ML variant that demonstrate the sophisticated multi-level drainage performance of the system. The unique shaped curtain-wall, which was 6.8-m wide and 4.8-m high appealed to visitors for its grandeur and irregular form.”

Reynaers Aluminium manufactures a wide variety of window and door systems, curtain-walling, sliding systems, sun screening, conservatories, skylights, screens and systems to incorporate blinds and ventilation grids.
