The ACS-1 ... an enhanced smoke and acoustic seal featuring three separate air pockets.

Mann McGowan, a pioneer in intumescent seal technology, will be making its debut this year at The Big 5 as part of the British group, where it will be launching a number of new products while promoting some of its proven solutions.

Mann McGowan has been at the forefront of intumescent seal technology for nearly 40 years, according to a spokesman for the UK-based company. It provides a one-stop solution for fire and acoustic seals, he adds.

“Since its inception in 1977, Mann McGowan has developed a whole series of ground-breaking products, providing an unrivalled range of specialist services and forging lasting working partnerships with construction professionals around the world,” he states.

It is one of a few companies that not only supply intumescent products but also have the capability to design, manufacture and install in virtually any situation.

“In other words, we are a single tried-and-trusted source of everything involved in intumescent technology,” he remarks.

At The Big 5 show, the company will be launching in the region its Palusol SW, a ready-made laminated board material that is durable, easy to apply and can be used to manufacture both flat and raised and fielded fire-resistant doors.

Also showcased at The Big 5 among a range of leading-edge products will be Pyrostrip 100 Palusol PVC encapsulated fire seals, which are based on an intumescent core of hydrated sodium silicate, encapsulated in a uPVC (unplasticised polyvinyl chloride) sleeve. It is primarily intended for installation in fire doors, panelled doors and frame-to-wall gaps.

This advanced product, which is manufactured by BASF SE and distributed by Mann McGowan, has undergone numerous internationally recognised fire resistance tests and been fitted in many famous locations, he points out.

“With fire door constructions and designs changing constantly, the need for door components such as intumescent fire seals to enhance performance is ever growing,” the spokesman adds.

For advanced acoustic applications, Mann McGowan will unveil the ACS-1, an enhanced smoke and acoustic seal featuring three separate air pockets.

“This latest innovative and durable product that provides outstanding acoustic performance is a welcome addition to the already highly successful product range, allowing Mann McGowan to offer complete acoustic, smoke, dust and ambient weather seals that can be used in conjunction with their intumescent seals and provide complete protection,” the spokesman concludes.

Mann McGowan will showcase its products at Stand 2G49.
