DEM, a specialist in wire cold rolling technology, will use The Big 5 to meet up with long-time partners and start-ups in southeast Asia.

The company designs, manufactures, constructs and commissions competitive plants, equipment and automation systems for the wire industry.

“DEM has wide experience in rolling different types of materials, from low and high carbon steel to stainless steel, from titanium and zinc to copper and special alloys,” says a spokesman for the Italy-based company.

Set up in 1996, DEM launched operations by producing the first cold rolling cassettes for the construction industry. In 1999, it installed the first of many profile wire rolling (PWR) lines. In 2009, it delivered its first DEM-Eurodraw innovative flux cored wire rolling line. Over the years, it has grown to be a global partner for wire rolling, by cold processing, and enjoys a worldwide presence.

The technical solutions provided by DEM cover rolling mills for profiles and flat wire; cold rolling line for concrete reinforcing wire, both coils and bars; cassettes for wire rolling and for rope compacting; and micro-cassettes used in multi-pass drawing machines instead of dies. It also undertakes complete plants for the production of flux cored wire.

In addition, DEM designs and produces special auxiliary equipment according to customer specifications, such as coilers, spoolers, wire collecting benches, strapping and tilting units, pay-offs, pre-straighteners, bar selecting benches, chamfering devices, shears, wire descalers, wire cleaning units, wire soap lubricators, to name but a few.

“This wide range of solutions has been established through hard work and enthusiasm of its staff, and with feedback from customers, and has seen thousands of applications all over the world,” the spokesman concludes.

DEM’s equipment is used worldwide.
