Royal Atlantis Resort ... taking shape at the Palm Jumeirah.

Elkon’s powerful Mobile Master-150 Elephant, claimed to be the highest-capacity mobile concrete batching plant in the world, has started producing concrete for Dubai’s newest icon, The Royal Atlantis Resort and Residences.

The powerful mobile concrete batching plant has been installed at the crescent of The Palm Jumeirah.

Mobile Master-150  Elephant has become a top choice to meet the growing demand of construction companies in Dubai, says Elkon.

“The Mobile Master-150 Elephant is equipped with a powerful 6,750/4,500-litre twin-shaft mixer and also includes the ice scale, which allows a concrete mix at the desired temperature,” explains a spokesman for Elkon. “It also has a microsilica dosing system to ensure the production of the concrete with special properties.”

The plant also has an automated aggregate feeding system to make it completely mobile. The hourly rate of readymix concrete production of this custom-coloured plant can reach up to 150 cu m, which is the highest capacity available for a mobile plant that is pulled and transported by one truck trailer, the spokesman points out.

The Royal Atlantis Resort and Residences, a 43-storey project, is being built at a cost of $1.4 billion and is due for completion in 2018. When completed, the development will offer 231 residences and 795 new lavish guest rooms and suites in the resort on over 10 hectares of land.

Elkon has played a crucial role in the fast-growing UAE construction market since its establishment in 1977, having supplied concrete for many prominent projects in the Emirates such as Burj Al Arab, Burj Khalifa, Emirates Office Towers and many others.

“In its 40 years of existence, Elkon has become the leading supplier of readymix concrete in Dubai, and its aim to satisfy the increased demand for high-quality concrete for the unique and complex construction projects of the UAE,” the spokesman concludes.
