BASF Construction Chemicals has won exclusive sales rights for the BioClad antimicrobial PVC wall cladding systems in the GCC apart from Kuwait.

BioClad is described as the world’s first such wall system incorporating BioCote technology. This antimicrobial silver-ion technology kills 99.9 per cent bacteria and is proven effective against E.coli, MRSA and Influenza, allowing BioClad products to create a hygienic environment, said a spokesman for the construction chemicals manufacturer. This provides full-depth, virtually seamless antimicrobial protection, guaranteed for the lifetime of the PVC sheet. The systems are extensively tested and approved by health and food manufacturing authorities around the globe including the UK NHS, HACCP, USDA and FDA, it added.

The addition of the BioClad range to the BASF product offer means that its loyal and rapidly expanding, customer base for Ucrete and MasterTop resin flooring systems, in the food and beverage manufacturing, catering, pharmaceutical, healthcare and other critical industries, can now source their complete hygienic floor and wall covering needs from a single supplier, said Brian Williams, marketing manager, Middle East.

Lindsay McKenzie, managing director of BioClad said: “We are delighted to be partnering with such a well-established, global player such as BASF who not only have proven complementary products but also have an excellent reputation for customer care, site service and technical support throughout the region.”
