Work is moving at a fast pace at Saada West Project, a BD45-million ($119 million) waterfront development in the Muharraq area of Bahrain, with the reclamation work fully completed, said a report.

An 18,000-sq-m area has been reclaimed and prepared, seawalls have been constructed and  jetties established as part of the reclamation work, reported the BNA.

Endorsed by HRH Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, the seafront property is being constructed by Bahrain Real Estate Investment (Edamah), the real estate arm of the Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company (Mumtalakat).

The ambitious project is being developed in two phases, where Phase One will see a mix of residential and retail facilities including the construction of seven buildings and 45 restaurants and cafes. The work will be completed by April next year, the report stated.

HRH the Premier has given directives to expedite the construction of the multi-storey car-park, which connects the Saada Project and the Muharraq Market, and put it out to tender.
