The Cat CB10 ... helps contractors become more versatile, productive, and profitable.

Mohamed Abdulrahman Al Bahar, Caterpillar’s dealer in Bahrain, Kuwait, the UAE and Oman, has added the new CB10 asphalt compactor to its extensive range of Cat compactors.

The 10-tonne size class asphalt compactor has a 1.7-m drum width, and can be equipped with a combination of oscillatory and vibratory drums.

The tandem vibratory roller’s oscillatory vibration system – which is available as an option – builds upon the proven durability and performance offered by existing Cat asphalt compactors and delivers solutions that help contractors to boost their versatility, productivity, and profitability.

The Cat CB10’s vibration and oscillation options make it suitable for a wide range of applications, from large expressway projects to smaller, yet critical, urban-type work.

Among the highlights of the new compactor are its versatile vibratory system selection; durable pod-style vibration system; visibility, comfort and convenience of the operator station; different options of Cat Compaction Control systems; industry-leading water spray system; and smooth operation powertrain.

Furthermore, the optional oscillatory vibration system provides delicate messaging motion for superior compaction results on thinner lifts.

“The front drum utilises vertical vibration that delivers the amplitudes and frequency options for thicker lifts and tough mix designs, while the oscillation system on the rear drum performs effectively on thin lifts and near sensitive structures such as buildings, bridge decks, and over underground utilities like fibre-optics, electric, water, and gas lines,” the spokesman explains.

The new CB10 also ensures lower sound levels and reduced fuel consumption with the Eco-mode feature, and higher uptime with the reliable water spray system.

Cat compactors offer an outstanding lifetime value with features like durable pod-style vibration system, long service intervals for engine, hydraulics and vibratory system, and more.

Amongst the other new additions to Al Bahar’s line of compaction equipment are an updated range of tandem vibratory rollers – CB7, CB8, in the 7- to 8-tonne class; and CB13, CB15, CB16 in the 12- to 15-tonne class.

The major feature updates in these new models include easier service access and simplified operations with enhancements in the operator station. Some new options on some models include the oscillatory vibration system, hardened drum shell, additional lighting options, and more.

Also available from Al Bahar is a new updated range of utility compactors – CB1.7, CB1.8 (1.7- and 1.8-tonne class), CB2.5, CB2.7, CB2.9 (2.3- to 3-tonne class) in addition to CC2.6 combination roller.

The added features to these compactors include new structure updates, engine updates, and robust three-points hitch. They have simplified trouble-shooting and service, operator console design, machine functions, indicators and more. There are also new options, such as single point lifting, battery disconnect switch, and different lighting.

Commenting on the usage of compactors in the region, Ali Abu Hirra, paving and material handling, segment manager at Al Bahar, says: “Our customers choose us over competition, due to the proven durability and superior performance of Cat compactors. Additionally, choosing Cat Compactors guarantees outstanding support that is offered by Al Bahar.”
