Global Energy, a leading regional heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning (HVAC) and electromechanical supplier, is working on several lines of the Riyadh Metro project with full technical support from both Areel Nystrom Middle East and Smoke Control Australia.

The engineering house has secured work on five of the six lines of the mega project from both the BACS Consortium that consists of Bechtel, Al Mabani, Consolidated Contractors Company (CCC) and Siemens; and FAST Consortium that consist of FCC Spain, Freysinnet KSA, Alstom, Strukton, Atkins, Samsung C&T, Setec and Typsa.

Thamer Al Hathal, the CEO of Global Energy Group, is glad to be part of the Riyadh Metro Project.

“The milestones we have achieved on this project have convinced us to look for more opportunities in such mega developments,” he adds.

Commenting on the project, Areel Nystrom Middle East’s Middle East area director Mohamed El Hamed, says: “The scheduled weekly trips to Riyadh to meet consultants, contractors and subcontractors for the technical workshops were not an easy task, especially on a mega, prestigious project such as this one. The results prove the hard work done by Areel Nystrom Middle East to simplify large chunks of technical complexities, which were indeed a challenge for both teams.”

On his part, the managing director of Smoke Control Australia Brendan Kennedy says: “Being an Australian manufacturer, it was a bit difficult to understand the requirements of this region in the beginning. However, Global Energy bridged that gap with its fantastic groundwork, follow-up and support. We are glad we got the right partner.”

Mohammed Ajmal, the general manager of Global Energy, says hard work, dedication and commitment have always been the baseline objective and mission of Global Energy.

“The reputation we have built in the market is based on exceptional commitment to our clients and our offer, which includes exceptional after-sales service and support. And we are sure this achievement will be a turning point for both Global Energy and Areel Nystrom Middle East in securing more projects in this market and will help us build stronger and more successful bonds than ever,” he adds.

Global Energy represents renowned manufacturers from around the world for air management, distribution, and filtration products. It also has a partnership with Siemens Building Management Systems.

The company has seen tremendous growth in the past five years, having expanded from its home base of Saudi Arabia – where it has had a presence for two decades – to other countries in the region including Bahrain, UAE and Kuwait. In fact, its well-structured operations expansion in this region has positioned it among the fastest-growing specialised companies in the region.

Global Energy recently inaugurated a new division catering for specialty architectural and building products and low current systems.

It has hands-on experience in working with big clients such as Saudi Aramco, Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (Sabic), Saudi Electricity Company (SEC), Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC) and other governmental entities, giving it a competitive edge in the market.
