AIC’s stand at last year’s show ... good response.

Bahrain-based Amna Insulations and Chemicals (AIC) is returning to Gulf Construction Expo for the third consecutive year to showcase innovative building technologies including those that save energy and are environmentally safe.

AIC member Amna Politerm is sponsoring the Green Technology sector at the show.

It intends to promote a diverse range of systems and solutions that include green building concepts; lifetime energy-saving solutions for roofs and walls; unique construction boards; super-lightweight concrete; specialised metal decking systems; smart and light building solutions; long-life waterproofing solutions; and construction chemicals.

It will also offer free consultation in thermal insulation selection criteria, Suleman Al Mezal, the executive director of Amna Insulations and Chemicals, tells Gulf Construction.

He says the company, which specialises in providing energy-saving solutions for the construction sector, will be looking to get greater exposure for its innovative technologies and promote them to a wider audience and end-users in Bahrain through the Gulf Construction Expo.

AIC received very good response from the event in both 2017 and 2018, and in fact hopes the show’s duration could be increased from three to four days.

Part of the Al Mezal Group of Companies, AIC offers a range of green technology solutions such as the LGS (light gauge steel) construction system, Marmox Multiboard (lightweight construction and insulation board), Marmox External Thermal Insulation System, Politerm Light Concrete (thermal insulating concrete) and Pleko Systems (an external insulation and finishing system).

The company has also started an expanded polystyrene (EPS) foam line to serve the market with super-lightweight concrete at competitive prices.

AIC’s goal, Al Mezal says, is to make fast, affordable construction a reality in Bahrain, especially since the company has acquired expertise and great success in energy saving solutions.

“In addition, we are moving towards renewable energy production in Bahrain,” he adds.

AIC is currently involved with numerous projects, where it is supplying thousands of square metres of Marmox exterior insulation and finish system (EIFS), beams and columns, car-park ceilings, and roof and canopy cladding. These include the Harbour Row development in Manama, and villas and buildings in various parts of the country. It is also undertaking crack repairing, repainting and wall cladding for some projects.

In addition, the company has executed several other projects over the past year where it supplied large volumes of a range of products such as Pleko and Marmox EIFS.  These include a 10-storey apartment building in Riffa, two-storey villa in Aali, 43-storey building in Hoora, an international hospital, three-storey building in Busaiteen, St Peters Jacobite Orthodox Church in Salmaniya, and a two-storey villa in Amwaj Islands.

AIC has also supplied roof insulation to many villas and buildings, in addition to floor screed, and wet area waterproofing.

Amna Insulations & Chemicals will be exhibiting at Stand GCA 2B at the Gulf Construction Expo.
