Target Engineering wins $86m Adnoc contract

Arabtec Holding, a leading contractor for social and economic infrastructure, said its unit, Target Engineering Construction Company, has been awarded a Dh315-million ($86 million) contract by Tecnicas Reunidas to carry out the construction works for Adnoc Onshore’s Bu-Hasa Integrated Field Development Project in Abu Dhabi.

This award extends Target’s scope of work from the previously announced Dh521 million in November last year to bring the total contract value to Dh836 million. Target’s scope of work includes general construction and expansion of the existing Bu Hasa oil pad hubs, the gas lift Phase Two and the produced water re-injection Phases One and Two.

The main objective is to boost and sustain the Bu Hasa production plateau output to 650,000 barrels per day by October 2021, says Arabtec.

The contract works have already started on the project and is due for completion by August 2021.

Acting group CEO Peter Pollard says: “We are pleased that Tecnicas Reunidas has awarded Target the extended works for the Adnoc Onshore project, which reflects our solid relationships across the markets in which we operate.”

SirajPower installs solar power plant for RSA-Talke

UAE-based SirajPower, a leading provider of solar rooftops, has installed a solar power plant on the premises of RSA-Talke, the chemicals-focused subsidiary of the RSA Global group of companies.

The installation is located on the rooftop of RSA-Talke’s non-dangerous goods chemical facility in Dubai South. This is the fourth solar power plant installed by SirajPower on a RSA Global building since the signing of the fully financed leasing scheme two years ago, which at the time made RSA was the first to go solar in Dubai South.

RSA-Talke, a joint venture between RSA Global and German logistics veteran the Talke Group, is a supply chain partner for the chemical and petrochemical industry in Europe, Middle East, US, India and China. The new agreement with SirajPower includes the installation, financing and operation of a 1 MWp photovoltaic (PV) system on RSA-Talke’s warehouses, under a 20-year leasing scheme. The plant will cover more than 78 per cent of the electricity consumptions, saving 1,100 tons of CO2 from the first year of operation.

SirajPower continues to grow its portfolio in the UAE with over 50MWp leasing scheme secured across the UAE, making it the market leader in distributed solar energy. The company reported earlier this year being in negotiations for other projects with total capacity of approximately 100 MWp.

Saipem to develop Saudi floating offshore wind farm

Saipem has signed a memorandum of understanding with Plambeck Emirates, an Abu Dhabi-based solutions company in the field of renewables, and an exclusive agreement for the development and construction of a floating offshore wind farm.

The project phases will commence shortly via Plambeck Saudi, a Plambeck company located in Riyadh. The partners will use their experience and know-how to carry out an innovative project, in line with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030.

Saipem can start operations after finalisation of the financial agreements at the end of the planning phase, following which the contract will be signed for Saipem to undertake the engineering, design, construction and installation of the entire project and related services.

Francesco Balestrino, renewables and green tech product manager of the Xsight division, comments: “We believe that the wind market in Saudi Arabia can be supported by innovative solutions for the construction of offshore wind farms, such as the Saipem technology Hexafloat, with an accelerated programme and reduced costs.”

Norbert Plambeck, shareholder of Plambeck Emirates, stated: “The development of the 500 MW floating offshore wind farm project is part of the new 5 GW “Wind Market” concept, which has been proposed to Saudi Arabia.”

Saraya emerges lowest bidder for Bahrain health centre project

Saraya Contractors Company has emerged as the lowest bidder – with a figure of BD209,895 ($552,846) – for carrying out expansion, modification and renovation works at Ibn Sina Health Centre in Bahrain’s capital Manama, according to the Tenders Board.

Besides Saraya, the Ministry of Health had received a total of 12 bids from key players in the kingdom’s contracting sector including Prospects Building Contracting; European Constructions & Maintenance; Trass International Construction; Al Qawareer Contracting Company; Al Hafeera Contracting Company; Al Mezeal Construction & Services; Transglobal Contracting; Dar Al Khaleej Trading & Contracting; Arab Concepts Construction and Integrated Facility Management and Raouf Contracting Establishment, according to the Bahrain Tender Board in its notice.
