Marconi Inter-Design Company, one of the leading roll-forming companies in the UAE, has added a new dimension to interior design products by complementing its flooring range with Paroll, a leading access raised flooring system from Germany.

According to Souheil Hatoum, managing partner of Marconi, the company was appointed as the exclusive dealer and contractor for Paroll in the UAE last month (January). The product ranges include calcium sulphate, encapsulated steel chipboard laminated with a wide selection of finishing materials such as carpet tiles, parquet, antistatic vinyl, and conductive PVC.
Marconi’s trademark ‘Matador’ offers a wide range of metal ceilings and partitions.
Marconi has a competitive edge on the market because of its adaptability and flexibility, since it can roll-form locally, supply and install cut-to-size of all sections and accessories related to the system to meet the satisfaction of the designer and engineer, according to Hatoum.
The product range of Marconi Inter-Design Company includes:
Strip false ceilings: Roll-forming different types in pre-painted aluminium and steel strips of Matador 84, 100, 200 and 300 mm in plain and perforated patterns, complete with suspension carriers, matching the colour of the edge trims and adjustable hanging clips.
Ceiling panels: Matador panel range is pressed and formed from pre-painted aluminium and steel or powder-coated galvanised and mill-finish aluminium. The panels come in a plain or perforated pattern, ranging from 300 by 300 mm to 600 by 1,200 mm in size on concealed spring tee-system or lay-in system (exposed grid T24 and T15 mm).
The Matador range also includes four different recessed, decorative clip-in or lay-in panels.
Matador’s open cell grid system is made up of aluminium stove-enamelled to RAL colours, with a lacquered mirror finish of 0.5 mm thick ‘U’ type.
The grid system is available in standard cell sizes of 50 by 50, 75 by 75, 86 by 86 and 100 by 100 mm. Other cell sizes can be arranged according to architect’s design.
Exposed T-bar grid system: Marconi, with technical support from Europe, has developed the Matador T24 mm exposed grid system and the Eliteline (Ultraline) T15mm decorative exposed grid system.  The materials are roll-formed from first-class galvanised 0.38-mm-thick steel, 275 g/cu m and 0.3 mm pre-painted steel caps and are available both in the metric as well as the imperial system.
Gypsum dry ceiling suspension: Matador profiles for dry gypsum ceiling of furring channels, main channels and angles are roll-formed from hot-dipped galvanised steel of 270 g/cu m.
Specific thicknesses for special project requirements can be formed and supplied in any desired length.
Dry and demountable gypsum partition steel structure: Matador’s range for related partition systems includes a wide variety of galvanised studs and tracks. In profile sections, the stud and track come in thicknesses ranging from 50, 52 mm to 150,152 mm, respectively. The thickness of the profile varies with wall stud module. Being roll-formed locally, the studs and tracks can be supplied in any desired length, thereby giving the strength and rigidity to meet the requirements, says Hatoum.
Marconi  has been supplying interior and exterior pre-painted aluminium and steel profiles to the UAE since 1988. It opened its branch office in Abu Dhabi in 1992, to maintain a direct contact with consultants and engineers and keep abreast of their technical and professional requirements.
Some of the recent projects of Marconi Inter-Design include:
• False ceilings and partitions at a 50-bed clinic, Liwa, Al Ain;
• Partitions, ceiling and decorative cornices at the Madinat Jumeirah Resort, Dubai;
