Contracts worth SR 463 million ($123.4 million) to  develop eight water and drainage projects in a number of districts throughout Riyadh and Al Ghat Governorates, have been signed by the Saudi Minister of Water and Electricity Dr Ghazi vin Abdul-Rahman Al Gosaibi.

Three of the contracts were signed with Aziz Company to develop water mains and sewers. The first SR99.99 million contract calls for the laying of 212-km of sewer lines to serve Khaleej, Naseem and Nadheem districts. In the second, a 172-km-long sewer will be built in the districts of Al Wadi, Nafl and Falah costing SR61.12 million. The third is a 35-km water supply line from Salboukh Station to Riyadh and costs SR56.6 million. All three will be completed in three years.
The minister also signed two contracts with Al Marafiq Company to build a  21 km (SR78.8 million) water main in northern Riyadh and a 21km (SR46 million) sewer in the city’s eastern districts.
Contracts for a 150 km (SR78.2 million) drainage network, and a 34 km  (SR27.3 million) drainage network in western Riyadh districts and a SR14.7 million building sewage system in the governorate of Al Ghat were also signed.
