Union Mosaic and Marble Company (UMMC), a specialist ISO9001:2000 certified contractor for marble and granite works, has recently completed the fast-track job at Madinat Jumeirah Phase II, decorating the majestic lobbies and public areas of Al Qasr Hotel with high-grade marble and granite.

UMMC was awarded the Dh7 million ($1.9 million) contract in July 2003, to supply and install the marble and granite in all public areas including restaurants, bars, lobbies, and corridors of the impressive Al Qasr Hotel.
“Quality of the material and installation were the top priorities set by the contractors, especially for the unique marble carpet designs,” says a company spokesman.
He continues: “UMMC’s highly-skilled team, aided by state-of-the-art production facilities, successfully fulfilled the project requirements and handed over the finished project in March 2004.
“Since we are operating in a highly competitive and quality-conscious market, we prefer to bid for the right type of projects where fast-track quality work is required.’’
“We are only concentrating on the local market, since the volume and demand is extremely high. Our current market share stands at around 10 per cent, however, we are striving hard to get a bigger chunk through the efforts of our thoroughly professional team of engineers, sales and marketing personnel, designers, and skilled technicians, who are committed to deliver the best quality of products and services to the clients,” the spokesman comments
The company, which hopes to achieve an annual turnover of Dh30 million this fiscal year, has already posted a healthy Dh8 million turnover in the first quarter of this year.
“The annual turnover has been growing steadily in recent years, thanks to the unprecedented boom in construction business in the UAE, and we are targeting a 20 per cent growth in turnover,” he explains.
