ADM-Isobloc, the leading German manufacturer of plants and machinery for the synthetic-resin processing industry, is setting up a production facility for polymer concrete jacking pipes in Doha, Qatar.

Sheduled to be operational within the next eight months, Qatar German Pipe Company (QGPC) will produce polymer concrete jacking pipes to help meet the growing demand of these products in the construction market.
“We offer a modular and flexible system of machines and plants for metering, mixing, degassing, casting and injection. Our polymer concrete (PRC) products are based only on aggregates, filler and polyester resin – cement or water are not used in their manufacture. The homogeneous bond of resin and aggregate materials combine to provide high axial compressive and bending strength with a thinner wall thickness and lesser weight than other jacking pipes. Polyester as a bonding agent also provides excellent resistance to corrosion,” says a company spokesperson.
“Our PRC products have a number of benefits which make them very popular in a number of applications. They have extreme resistance to most acid and caustic solutions as the quartz aggregate resists chemical attacks. The material structure is capillary free and does not allow water absorption or gas diffusion. These products are popular in micro-tunneling technology as they facilitate long-distance jacking operation. Offered in diameters ranging between DN 150 to 3,000 mm and lengths up to 3 m, these products are also very environmentally friendly and cost-effective,” he adds.
Meanwhile, ADM-Isobloc is currently developing a polymer-concrete manhole system that offers excellent corrosion resistance.
Providing a long reliable service life of more than 100 years, these manhole systems are ready for installation and connection immediately after delivery to the job site since they are precast in the company’s local production plant. Designed to be safe from buoyancy and to transfer heavy vertical loads, they are jointless, watertight and corrosion resistant to sulphuric acid from top to bottom. These systems are also individually manufactured, are adaptable to any configuration requirements and can be easily connected to force mains and pipes of any material, the spokesman says.
Established in 1955 in Brueggen, Germany, ADM Isobloc is a leading manufacturer of production machinery and equipment for the processing of thermosetting plastics such as acrylic, solid surface, engineered stone and polymer concrete. Its high-tech machines that are used around the globe not only modernise the production process but are also easy to handle and maintain.
