Nakheel, one of the world’s leading developers, is gearing up for the grand opening of The Boardwalk at Palm Jumeirah in November, with a truckload of treats for visitors to the island’s latest attraction.

Covering the entire 11-km stretch of Palm Jumeirah’s protective crescent, the Dh150-million ($41 million) Boardwalk will be home to around 20 food trucks – serving everything from fish and chips to falafel, and spaghetti to shawarma – the first of which are already open for business, said the Dubai developer.

"The Boardwalk has transformed Palm Jumeirah’s crescent into a vibrant destination for fitness, leisure, shopping and dining, and is the perfect spot for cycling, jogging or a relaxed waterfront stroll," stated a Nakheel spokesman.

Accessible from 14 points along the existing sidewalk and on the doorstep of an array of world-famous resorts, The Boardwalk has been created by building over the rocks of the island’s breakwater. At six metres wide, it is more than double the width of the original crescent path.

"Our food trucks are the first component of this new attraction, which will be a big draw for residents and tourists on the island, and for the wider Dubai community," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
