In a major move, leading Egyptian real estate developer Tamer El Khouly has been signed up by the west African nation of Côte d'Ivoire as its strategic partner to help boost investment opportunities in real estate and infrastructure fields across the country.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire sent an official letter to the Egyptian Embassy in Senegal inviting the real estate developer along with other major Egyptian businessmen for the official inauguration of the 'Ivorian week in the world' this August, where El Khouly would be honoured as a strategic partner of the state.

El Khouly expressed delight at the Côte d'Ivoire honour and said this was in recognition of his efforts during the last five years to develop the infrastructure besides building residential units and entering into partnership projects worth more than €800 million ($932 million).

“More than 15 per cent of the used components and products were imported from Egypt,” he added.

The propert expert said that there were many promising opportunities for investment and economic cooperation between the West African countries in general - and Côte d'Ivoire country in particular- and Egypt.

He added that Egyptian businessmen and investors must move effectively and take advantage of the available opportunities that will be an added value to the Egyptian economy and help to open up diverse markets for Egyptian products in various fields.

El Khouly will be showing a documentary film about Egypt and the investment opportunities available in different industrial sectors and the progress made under the leadership of President Sisi.

"The future of the Egyptian economy is linked to the black continent. There are countries that have noticed this and have begun to move in an organized way looking for solid investment opportunities," he added.

El Khouly was last year appointed as ambassador and representative of the United Nations organization (IIMSAM) and an international observer to the United Nations Economic and Social Council. He also established representative offices for his company in Mali, Cameroon, Ivory Coast and Senegal.-TradeArabia News Service
