Diyar Al Muharraq, one of the leading urban developers in Bahrain, has announced key infrastructure updates on its upcoming master-planned island city.

Striving to complete all the infrastructure work with high quality and in a timely manner, Diyar Al Muharraq recently completed three major roads within its development which will increase accessibility for visitors and residents alike, said a statement from the company.

Diyar Al Muharraq said it had spent BD27 million ($71.3 million) to build an integrated multi-lane highway network within the project that is approximately 17-km-long in total.

Furthermore, by the end of this year, the Bahraini developer will start building a bridge that will link the southern and northern islands of its development.

On its 2018 achievements, Diyar Al Muharraq said along with the developments integrated and advanced telephony and data services, it has laid 10 km of its overall fibre network in conjunction with Batelco to help provide faster connection to its residents.

On the sewerage networks, the developer said it was on course to completing the deep gravity sewer with a value of about BD18 million by the month end. The deep gravity sewer will be capable of serving 60,000 residents in the southern side of Diyar Al Muharraq.

CEO Dr Maher Al Shaer said: "On behalf of Diyar Al Muharraq, we are pleased to announce to the public our latest infrastructure work and achievements, which highlights our efforts in completing all the development’s projects in a timely manner."

"It also reflects our endeavour in providing residents with the best infrastructure services, including telecommunications, roads, electricity and water, and sewerage networks. All these remarkable achievements contribute to the manifestation of our integrated vision for Diyar Al Muharraq day by day," he remarked.

"Diyar Al Muharraq has been a pioneer in the kingdom and the region, due to the diversity and abundance of residential and investment projects, which attracts Bahrainis, GCC citizens and foreigners alike. We therefore pay close attention to every detail of our work to emphasise on the high standards that the company incorporates in building a comprehensive infrastructure network that serves to fulfill residents’ different needs," he added.

On the project progress, Al Shaer said: "We have completed building and energising eight primary substations distributed throughout the development, and it is now serving the projects located on the southern side of the city."

"The primary power network’s cost has reached BD50 million to date. Furthermore, the company is preparing to build the first primary substation in the northern island of Diyar Al Muharraq," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
