HRH the Premier opens the expos

Investments in Bahrain's real estate sector are safe and rewarding and the government will remove all the obstacles facing the development of the sector, said Bahrain's Prime Minister His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa.

Inaugurating the trio of exhibitions – Gulf Construction Expo, Gulf Property Show and Interiors Expo – yesterday (April 23), he stressed the importance of the construction and real estate sector for Bahrain's economy.

The Prime Minister said the real estate sector is one of the pillars and basic sources on which the kingdom depends to diversify the streams of its income and attract investment.

About 150 exhibitors from 20 countries, including the UAE, Kuwait, Jordan, Germany, Turkey, Egypt, the UK and Cyprus, are participating in the three-in-one event, at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre.

The exhibitions are organised by Hilal Conferences and Exhibitions (HCE).

Gulf Construction Expo is celebrating the 13th anniversary of the premier show for the construction and building materials sector; Gulf Property Show is the boutique showcase for the real estate and property development sectors in the Northern Gulf region; and the Interiors Expo is a platform for the burgeoning GCC’s home-grown interior brands.

The exhibitions, which will run concurrently till April 25, continue to provide the largest integrated business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-consumer (B2C) showcase for the construction, interiors and property sectors in the Northern Gulf.

HRH the Prime Minister stressed that the exhibitions and conferences industry enjoys great international interest, noting that the kingdom, out of its keenness to meet demand, has provided all requirements that have made it the best destination for hosting mega specialist international expos around the year.

Government-led efforts to develop the exhibition industry have paid off, he said, turning Bahrain into a favoured destination for leading firms and investors to showcase their projects and products.

He praised the quality of the exhibition and appreciated the products on display.

HRH the Premier said the government has been keen to ensure that the real estate-related laws and legislation cope with the local and international developments in such a vital sector.

HRH the Prime Minister praised the key role played by specialised real estate exhibitions, including the Gulf Property Show, to create an opportunity to highlight the advanced level of investment in the real estate sector in the kingdom.

HRH the Premier said that urban development is a field of competition among countries and an indicator of the extent of their success in achieving sustainable urban development.

“In Bahrain, we are proud that the real estate sector’s investment attractiveness reflects the solidity of the national economy and its ability to flourish and grow,” the Premier said.

The Prime Minister then toured the show’s pavilions and sections, where he was briefed on the exhibited products in various sectors.

HRH the Premier expressed admiration for the valuable real estate projects exhibited in the show, noting that they play an essential role in enhancing the kingdom’s developmental status.

HCE Chairman Anwar Abdulrahman extended sincere thanks and appreciation to HRH the Premier for patronising the show annually, which, he said, reflects his support for the private sector, and interest in all events that benefit the national economy, and boost the comprehensive development process the kingdom is currently witnessing.

HCE Managing Director Jubran Abdulrahman extended heartfelt thanks and appreciation to HRH the Premier for patronising the opening ceremony of the show, stressing that the Prime Minister is the greatest supporter of the exhibitions and conferences industry.
He affirmed that HRH the Premier’s patronage of the event had encouraged companies to participate in it.
