ABB, a global technology leader, is set to unveil integrated one-stop monitoring for digital Powertrain at the upcoming Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition (Wetex 2019).

The region’s largest Sustainability & Renewable Technology Exhibition, Wetex Dubai will be held from October 21 to 23 at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

ABB said the digital Powertrain monitoring services provide advanced analytics and maintenance planning to ensure the efficient operation of powertrain equipment, including drives, motors, bearings and pumps.

It includes smart sensors, software and services that enable users to digitally “see” operational variables through an integrated, one-stop portal, said a statement from ABB.

Over the course of three days, ABB will showcase all aspects of Digital Powertrain Monitoring services, introducing this new technology into the UAE market.

Data insights gained enable plant managers to be better connected with their assets, make more informed decisions, and prevent unplanned stoppages, it stated.

“Wetex gives us a great opportunity in ABB Motion to show customers our pioneer digital technology and application-specific solutions for Motors and Drives that help them be more efficient, productive and save energy,” remarked Ahmed Radwan, the Motion Lead Business Manager for Middle East & Africa region.

“We are also pleased to lead the journey to the future in the digital space with our existing ‘Drives Remote Service Center’ in Dubai that offers remote assistance and services to customers. Our offering fits perfectly with the UAE’s plans to drive forward towards a digital transformation and supports the Smarter Dubai Initiative,” stated Radwan.

According to him, one of the key challenges in the water industry today is leakage.

Our key solution, ABB Motion has helped water customers globally to reduce leakage, through pressure control approaches and eliminating water hammer.

"Additionally, a significant amount of energy savings can be achieved, with our ABB’s Digital Ability Platform, remote assistance and condition monitoring become a reality, enabling customers to be early alerted to proactively take necessary measures to avoid unplanned stoppages," he noted.

“Our strong presence in the UAE and across the Middle East and Africa helps ABB Motion be located close to the customers. While the UAE has over the years reduced water leakage and fares much better with the use of technology for water distribution – there are still vast improvements that can be done with ABB technology," he stated.

"With our extended coverage and best in class service network, we are uniquely positioned to support our customers overcome challenges operating conditions. Our comprehensive service portfolio is perfectly aligned to all customer needs through the entire lifecycle of the equipment enabling them to extend their asset lifetime and optimize operation costs,” added Radwan.
