Key infrastructure work at Hidd Al Saadiyat, an exclusive beachfront community in Abu Dhabi, UAE, has been completed and the project is on track for handover by the end of 2016.

Initial construction work on the project began in January 2013 and so far all the construction milestones have been achieved, according to Lead Development, an integrated full service consultancy, the project manager on Hidd Al Saadiyat.

The work on the neighbourhood’s main roads, installation of light poles and electrical cables are now completed, it stated.

On the work progress, Greg Slingerland, the project director, said: "We are proud to announce that Hidd Al Saadiyat’s key infrastructure work is nearly finished. We are happy to be one step closer to welcoming our residents to enjoying their luxury homes before end of the year, which offer a unique balance between nature and modern living."

Among the activities that have concluded are all the underground services including water, sewerage and electrical cables which have been installed with final testing and commissioning of these services taking place, stated Slingerland.

Additionally, all electrical substations and lifting stations have also been completed and are scheduled to be tested and commissioned, he added.

Hidd Al Saadiyat, which boasts 1.5 million sq m of natural beachfront land and 7 km of waterfront with easy access to the beach from every unit, is located in Saadiyat Island, the cultural district of the capital.

The development is surrounded by world-class hotels, resorts and museums, offering a perfect blend of community living.

The project’s main roads have all been paved allowing vehicular and foot traffic at the development to be sustained. Furthermore, work on the footpaths and villa driveways are to commence in the upcoming months, said the statement from Lead Development.

Meanwhile as Hidd Al Saadiyat approaches completion of its prestigious neighbourhood, all light pole bases and electrical cables have been fitted, which will allow installation respectively, it stated.
