Leading UAE-based property consultancy Cavendish Maxwell has appointed Nigel Armstrong, an industry veteran and also the former head of the Bannatyne Group in the UK, as its new chief executive officer.

Armstrong, who takes over the new role on July 1, will lead a team of more than 60 people across eight departments providing valuation, agency, advisory, research, property data and building consultancy services for residential and commercial property.

A qualified accountant by profession, Armstrong spent a large proportion of his career as CEO and shareholder at the Bannatyne Group and has also held senior management positions across sectors including leisure, hospitality, health clubs, hotels, bars, children's day nurseries and manufacturing, said the company in a statement.

He is a recognised leader in areas of credit process, acquisition, mergers, turnarounds and scaling up businesses.

Armstrong’s appointment is part of a corporate restructuring plan which has been under way over the last year, said the company statement.

“The purpose of this appointment is to further strengthen the company structure to ensure we achieve our long-term growth objectives,” remarked Jay Grant, the founder and managing partner of Cavendish Maxwell, who will now be taking on the role of chairman.

"Armstrong understands Cavendish Maxwell’s unique position in the market as well as our huge potential, and together we will work to realise that potential over the next few years," he stated.

Armstrong, he stated, possesses a strong managerial background with over 20 years’ cross-sector senior management exposure.

"During his tenure at the Bannatyne Group, Armstrong was instrumental in growing the group significantly and his track record of delivery and growing businesses is unquestionable. I can think of no one better to lead Cavendish Maxwell through the next stage of our development," he added.

On his new role, Armstrong said: "It is a privilege to be part of a dynamic organisation that provides high quality services to the best clients, fosters a supportive environment for talented professionals and is committed to socially responsible initiatives in the regions it operates."

“Cavendish Maxwell currently stands in a strong position in its industry, with an enviable reputation for its professional service delivery and efficiency," he noted.

"The underlying success of the company is down to the whole team and their dedication and commitment. Looking ahead, new opportunities for organic growth are being explored, some of which have already been identified. This coupled with new opportunities in new markets and emerging territories allows for very exciting prospects for Cavendish Maxwell in the coming months and years," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
