Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa) is showcasing its latest technical achievements at the ongoing Gitex 2016 in Dubai, UAE.

During the expo, Dewa will put on display a number of smart services and initiatives, including the Hololense-3D reality technique, in collaboration with Microsoft.

It is the first government organisation in the world to adopt this technique, said Dewa in its statement.

Hololense works as an independent computer, which includes drawing and 3D display processors, and sensors to enable 3D vision and graphics.

Dewa will also be demonstrating its Future Service Centre module, which encourages customers to participate in the development of its smart services.  The company is taking part under the Dubai Smart Government’s pavilion.

On display are also the company’s smart applications which are compatible with Apple TV, Samsung’s Smart TV, and others, said the statement.

The Dubai utility will highlight the quantum leap it has taken in its smart and innovative services and initiatives during the five-day expo.

The key objective is to introduce customers to new smart services, and initiatives, remarked Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, the managing director and chief executive of Dewa.

"We keep up to date with all government initiatives, and works to achieve the happiness of the whole community. We understand the importance of adopting advanced solutions, and the latest updates in the international technology field, to deal with rapid development," he added.

Also at the Gitex, Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, officially inaugurated the revamped Dewa website.

The new website provides easy, integrated, and efficient services along with easy browsing and online access.

“The revamped website offers special services for each category of customer. It was restructured according to a comprehensive study to meet customer needs, enhance customer services, and improve quality of service. All services have been divided into more specific categories, according to customer requirements, to facilitate and speed up surfing and navigation,” said Al Tayer.-TradeArabia News Service
