Dubai Municipality recently organised a meeting of its general maintenance contractors and suppliers as part of its strategic plan to communicate with suppliers and enhance relations with them.

The meeting was hosted by the contracts and purchasing department at Dubai Municipality as part of the department’s annual plan, where the opinions and ideas of suppliers were heard and their suggestions used to develop and improve the working procedures, reported state news agency Wam.

The meeting was attended by Ismail Kazim, the head of the Supplier Relations Section in the Contracts and Purchasing Department; Mohammed Abdullah Abbas, the head of the Technical Services Section in the General Maintenance Department; Abdul Amir Fadhlani, the head of the Government Buildings Maintenance Section, and a large number of contractors dealing with the General Maintenance Department as well as the suppliers of general maintenance materials.

Speaking at the meeting, Kazim said the meeting was held within the framework of mutual partnership to hear their views and suggestions about working with the municipality in the field of maintenance projects and also to review the observations that were monitored by the General Maintenance Department in the bidding process.

According to Kazim, the suppliers were an integral part of the municipality system and its partners in helping reach the goals and achieve future plans for the development of Dubai.

"One of the main objectives of the forum was to strengthen relations, bridge distances and overcome difficulties and obstacles, as it is an opportunity for them to meet the leadership of the municipality and put their comments directly," he stated.

The meeting also focused on ways to develop and improve the work procedures and pricing for maintenance contractors within the framework of the exchange of constructive ideas between suppliers and leaders to develop and improve work procedures, he added.
