TWO new categories have been introduced this year for the Middle East Hospital Build and Infrastructure Awards, which is part of the Hospital Build and Infrastructure Middle East Exhibition and Congress.

The Best Laboratory Design Award and Best Facilities Management Service Strategy Award will be given away along with a host of other awards at the sixth edition of the exhibition that will be held next month (June 2 to 4) at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre in Dubai, UAE.

The annual awards honour leaders in the healthcare industry who have excelled in building hospitals that have improved healthcare services in the Middle East and have helped raise the bar in providing world-class patient care. They also act as a platform to recognise the role of professionals who have worked to achieve a hospital environment that promotes a healthy lifestyle.

“We are pleased to introduce two new awards categories at the 2014 Middle East Hospital Build and Infrastructure Awards. The Best Laboratory Design Award will recognise an outstanding laboratory design that provides a superior innovative facility for testing and research and that supports positive human factor and ergonomics principles, as well as incorporates state-of-the- art safety features,” said Simon Page, managing director, Informa Life Sciences Exhibitions, the organiser.

“The Best Facilities Management Service Strategy Award will honour an outstanding healthcare service provider that has demonstrated excellence in the provision of a facilities management strategy that embraces the widest possible scope of services, meets the needs of the clinical teams and improves patient safety,” he added.
