Thermax Babcok Wilcox Energy Solutions, India ... a Zamil project.

ZAMIL Steel, one of the largest fabricators of pre-engineered buildings in the world, is celebrating its 37th year of service and commitment to the steel building industry as it witnesses a steady growth in business.

The Dammam-based company anticipates good prospects for this year, given that the demand for steel buildings is on the rise.

Currently, Zamil Steel is involved in some of the most prestigious projects in Saudi Arabia including those for Saudi Aramco, Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (Sabic), Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu (RCJY), Sadara, Gulf Cooperation Council Interconnection Authority (GCCIA), Saudi Consolidated Electricity Company (Sceco), and Maaden, to name a few.

The company continues to enhance its status as a premier steel building company in the world. It is a striking example of a regional firm that has made a global impression, having clinched contracts against stiff competition from international competitors.

“Over the years, Zamil Steel has grown to be a multi-divisional/multi-product business engaging in the engineering, fabrication and manufacturing of various steel products,” says Nawaf Al Zamil, vice-president, Zamil Steel Holding Company.

It now comprises six huge production lines: pre-engineered buildings (PEB), structural steel division (SSD), process equipment division (PED), towers and galvanising division (T&G), Zamil Steel Construction Company (ZSCC) and building Component Solutions Company (BCOMS).

From its business units located in five countries, Zamil Steel fabricates annually more than half a million tonnes of a diverse portfolio of industrial products ranging from state-of-the-art steel buildings and industrial and commercial structures to pressure vessels, power transmission towers and industrial insulation products.

These products are sold in more than 90 countries through a network of dedicated sales and representative offices, certified builders, agents and distributors. As an industry leader, the company has maintained its market position by continuously excelling in engineering, manufacturing, sales and project management.

Zamil’s international presence in key strategic markets enhances its efficiency, by enabling it to effectively utilise the engineering resources, technical services and production capabilities readily available at its disposal. Its global sales and services network comprises 54 offices worldwide, and is supplemented by a vast network of certified builders that provide professional support to its client portfolio.

Al Zamil says Zamil Steel has a unique before and after-sales customer service that is second to none in the industry. “This important feature is a core competency of the company which has contributed to its success,” he says.

“With a commitment to excellence in all standards in the steel industry, it is not surprising that Zamil Steel – even after 37 years of existence – continues to be the preferred choice in the steel building industry,” he concludes.
