Smart Living City shows gather pace

TASWEEK Real Estate Development and Marketing, a provider of comprehensive real estate development solutions for the UAE and the broader Middle East, has engaged various US companies in different segments to introduce and endorse the Smart Living City Dubai shows during its visit to the US.

The visit was part of a high-profile preparation for the event in Dubai 2014 and in 2015 in San Francisco.

The first edition of the event will be held under the patronage of Dubai’s Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum from September 15 and 16, 2014 at Jumeirah Emirates Tower, Dubai. The second edition of the Smart Living City, will take place from March 16 to 19, 2015 in San Francisco, US.

The two-day event in Dubai will be a platform for start-up owners, technology investors, business accelerators, and representatives from public and private organisations to share their perspectives on current urban issues and potential solutions.

There will be multiple workshops for participants and visitors hosted by some of the leading names from the industry along with networking opportunities.

A virtual tour of passive homes

A VIRTUAL tour of passive houses is being organised by Germany’s iPHA (The International Passive House Association) and its international affiliates, from November 7 to 9.

International Passive House Days is an online tour of passive houses and offices, which owners and residents around the globe will open to the world and share their experiences about the concept. In addition, the event includes conferences, seminars and workshops offered by iPHA’s partners and members across the globe.

Participating buildings and viewing details will be visible on the Passive House Database from September 1 (www.passivhausprojekte.de).

A passive house is a building that is very well-insulated, virtually air-tight, which is primarily heated by passive solar gain and by internal gains from people and electrical equipment, minimising energy losses.

Leisure show to be bigger

ESCALATING demand for leisure products at The Hotel Show Dubai has led to an increased focus for leisure and outdoor at this year’s event, taking place at the Dubai World Trade Centre, in Dubai, UAE, next month (September  28 to 30).

The Leisure Show is the ‘show within the show’ that was soft launched last year and attracted an audience of more than 1,500 professionals from theme parks, spa resorts, sports facilities, golf courses, real estate, and shopping malls specifically looking for outdoor and leisure products, furnishings, equipment and services.

The Leisure Show will caters to four main sectors: outdoor design, furniture and equipment; pool and spa; sports and fitness; and recreational fun and adventure.
