THE Sumail Industrial Estate in Oman is in the final stages of evaluating bids for the construction of infrastructure facilities worth RO50 million ($129.85 million) at the site.

The project involves construction of infrastructure facilities including roads and sewerage works. The tender for the project, which was announced in the fourth quarter of 2013, had attracted the interest of 18 companies. However, there are only three companies which are in the fray for final allotment, with Larsen and Toubro (Oman) giving the lowest bid of RO39.59 million ($102.818 million).

The other two companies are Galfar Engineering and Contracting with a bid price of RO46.71 million ($121.34 million) and Egyptian Contracting and Partners’ bid of RO48.98 million ($127.204 million).

The current number of projects at the estate stands at 180.
