OMAN’S Ministry of Transport and Communications has invited bids from consultants for supervising the Ibri-Yanqul dualisation project (second segment).

The project involves conversion of an existing single carriageway between Ibri and Yanqul to a four-lane dual carriageway. It includes several intermittent grade-separated interchanges, cross-drainage structures, and other facilities.

Tenders are expected to be opened this month (October 7).

The 33-km-long project has been divided into two segments and a contract for the first segment was awarded last year. Eleven local and international construction firms, including ones from Turkey and India, have submitted their bids for the project. Among them is Turkish construction giant Yuksel Construction, which submitted the lowest bid in response to a separate tender floated last year at RO37.41 million ($97.16 million) and RO42.15 million ($109.47 million).
