Paschal-Werk G Maier, a leading and specialised manufacturer of formwork systems, is playing a key role in a number of projects in Dubai, with its modular panels being used in all the vertical components of these developments.

The German manufacturer’s panels are being used for building a water tank, a double-sided retaining wall, as well as the columns and core walls at the City Walk, a residential development near Sheikh Zayed Road by Meraas Holdings.

With Phase One of the development, comprising 21 medium-rise residential buildings, nearing completion, the contractor Al Shafar General Contracting has started work on Phase Two which involves the construction of four residential blocks, 12 medium-rise buildings in addition to a medical centre, said Amir Delghandi, general director of Paschal Concrete Forms, the German firm’s regional office in Bahrain.

Paschal is also supplying its modular panels to support the construction of a water tank as well as the columns, shear and core walls of a medium-rise residential project in Dubai Silicon Oasis.

ANC Contracting is the contractor for the project, which is being developed by Gulf General Investment Company (GGICO). It comprises eight residential buildings, six of which are at the ground level, while two are at the superstructure stage.

Among other projects, its modular panels are speeding up construction work on a water tank, single-sided retaining wall, the columns and core walls of a commercial and residential building project at Tecom Dubai.

Meanwhile, in Abu Dhabi, Paschal Emirates, the local office of the German company, is supplying its formwork system to the prestigious Marina Bloom mixed-use development and is providing full service and assistance to meet the requirements and deadline of the contractor and its client.

“The flexibility and accuracy of the formwork system is facilitating work on all the columns and shear walls of this multimillion-dollar project,” said Delghandi.

Bloom Emirates Properties is the owner and Al Shafar General Contracting the main contractor of the development, which is located along the seashore of Al Bateen Abu Dhabi. It comprises 225 residential apartments and a five-star hotel comprising 200 hotel rooms and 57 serviced apartments.

“Paschal modular formwork is designed to provide contractors with a modern shuttering for use on any type of concrete structure,” said Delghandi. “Due to the flexibility, durability and versatility of these formwork panels, contractors can use them for footings, ground beams, columns, lift shafts, walls, as well as staircases, enabling them to reduce their costs by up to 30 per cent,” he added.

With customers in more than 40 countries and 50 years of experience, Paschal is a sought-after partner for concrete projects worldwide.

Set up in 1997 as the main office for the Middle East, Paschal Concrete Forms has since become one of the leading suppliers of modern formwork solutions to the construction industry in the GCC.
