Gulfex highlights twisted profile

Gulf Extrusions (Gulfex), a leading manufacturer of extruded aluminium products, said its ‘twisted profile’ was a key highlight at this year’s Aluminium 2014, which was held last month (October 7 to 9) in Dusseldorf, Germany.

The first of its kind in the Middle East region, the twisted profile was nominated as the most innovative product of the year in the innovation area of the event – a leading trade show for the aluminium industry.

The twisted profile, which was developed and customised for King Abdul Aziz International Airport project façade in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, obtained a 60-degree and 6-m-long twist with the help of a special machine used and tested on various grades of alloys and tempers.

Aluminium 2014 featured six themed pavilions – foundry, competence centre surface technology, primary, welding and joining, magnesium and recycling.

IPS is expected to attract 300 exhibitors from 120 countries including the UAE, Turkey, UK, US, Canada, Spain and Australia. It will feature pavilions from India, Philippines and Pakistan.
