Spectra Information Technology, a leading security surveillance solutions and wireless communications provider in Bahrain, has considerably boosted its projects portfolio and expanded its range to cater to the sophisticated demands of the market.

Over the past three years, the company has successfully installed more than 5,000 IP security cameras and 500 microwave/wireless devices, in addition to many other products and solutions for both public and private sector clients in the country.

Spectra has also widened the choice of products it offers to the market by recently signing a partnership deal with Avigilon Corporation, a leading Canadian company that designs and manufactures video surveillance software and equipment.

“We will be Avigilon’s partner in Bahrain and will offer all their products and solutions,” says Abdulla Al Khaja, managing director of Spectra Information Technology.

In addition, Spectra is now one step ahead of the market by offering video analytics for security and business applications to improve the efficiency of surveillance systems and facilitate investigations, he says.

 

The video analytics systems cover line crossing, people/vehicle counting, licence plate recognition, loitering and heat mapping.

This year, the company also started offering automated barriers and bollards systems for both the public and private sectors to enhance their security.

Spectra has successfully completed several projects for various government and private clients in Bahrain. Some of its main clients include the Ministry of Health (Salmaniya Medical Complex and 12 health centres), Seef Properties, University of Bahrain, Lightspeed Communications, and The Ritz-Carlton and Crown Plaza hotels.

Just recently, it successfully completed a project to help a leading retail client in Bahrain to boost its business efficiency, It involved the installation of 23 IP cameras in its retail outlets, to be used for people counting purposes.

Furthermore, Spectra also won an open tender for the University of Bahrain to supply and install IP CCTV systems. The work entails the design and installation of IP CCTVs, including setting up of the control and server rooms, cabling (copper and fibre optic), and civil and electrical works, and configuration and commissioning.

Other projects carried out by the company include the Seef Mall for Seef Properties, where its scope of work included installation of a security surveillance system (from Mobotix and Axis cameras) both inside and outside the mall as well as setting up of the control and server rooms, cabling (copper and fibre optic), and civil and electrical works.
