Indigo Living ... Los Angeles-inspired collecion.

Indigo Living keeps it cool

Indigo Living, an upscale Hong Kong-based retailer of furniture and home accessories which recently expanded its retail base to Dubai, UAE, has launched new collections for the cooler season.

Six new season statement looks have been inspired by global travel – from uptown London living to Japanese calm. Other styles are inspired by the wilds of Africa, cool Scandinavia and Los Angeles’ own unique brand of sunshine and glamour.

Zen Modern calls to mind Japan’s well-crafted design. The softest wools, natural linens, wood furnishings and minimal accessories are found in tranquil rooms with neutral palettes. Striking motifs include inky blue and deep crimson fighting fish on wall art and cushions with red kimonoed geishas that provide a few impactful splashes.

By contrast, Indigo Living’s Ode to Africa series for the living room and study are warm and exotic, and offer a refined twist on traditional safari looks. The range features luxurious items such as the Brooklyn brown leather sofa, dressed with graphic black and white cushions, and, with a brief hint of the wild, cushions sewn with springbok patterns. From the walls hang modern tribal prints, while two-drawer Lewis trunks display domino sets fashioned from bone as well as the occasional mounted animal skull. This is a pristine new take with subtle primal undertones, according to John McLennan, CEO of Indigo Living.

Quirky accessories include adorable black, white and gold bulldog decorative plates and golden palm tree candleholders.

Legato ... timeless.

Legato ... timeless.

V&B launches elegant collection

Villeroy & Boch (V&B) has launched Legato, a new bathroom collection characterised by timeless and elegant design. The new range can be seamlessly paired with an array of the leading ceramics manufacturer’s surface-mounted washbasins.

“Opting for a minimalist design complete with simple detail, the Legato range boasts super-thin edges that rest flush with the body of a unit and optional LED (light emitting diode) lighting for a crisp and clear aesthetic finish,” says a spokesman for the Germany-based company.

The range offers numerous furniture and colour variations. Consumers can choose from two styles of the vanity unit: the first with an overall height of 51 cm with two pull-out compartments, one of which is twice the height of the other; and the second with an overall height of 34 cm with double pull-out compartments.

Each compartment provides practical interior divisions, which can be easily opened and closed, thanks to recessed grips. Offering versatility to suit any bathroom shape, the units can also be mounted to the wall or fitted with feet, offering additional stability.

Providing sufficient storage space to add order to the bathroom, the cabinets are available in six stylish colours including glossy white, glossy grey, white matte, terra matte, oak graphite and the modern warm wood tone Elm Impresso.

Metreaux goes with any setting

Fresh, contemporary styling are the keynotes of UAE-based Bagnodesign’s newest bathroom collection, Metreaux, which blends harmoniously into any modern setting.

With a wide range of basin and sanitary ware options, a beautiful freestanding bath, plus co-ordinating brassware and accessories, Metreaux is a flexible option, whether chosen for a busy family bathroom or to create a sense of calm and sanctuary in the master ensuite.

“The centrepiece of Metreaux is the freestanding bath, generously deep for a relaxing soak and made from Bagnoquartz, a composite stone that is robust and ultra-durable,” says a spokesman for the innovative bathroom solutions specialist.

Metreaux washbasins are available in a range of widths and feature a cutting edge design to turn them into instant statement pieces. Available in a satin white finish, the Metreaux basin can be chosen with an inward slope, or with a right to left slope, giving a contemporary twist on the traditional washbasin ‘bowl’.

Available with three, one or no tapholes, the basin can be combined with the collection’s stunning range of brassware, which alongside several basin mixer options, also includes brassware for the shower and bath, including a rectangular showerhead, with four functions and LED (light emitting diode) lighting for the ultimate wellness experience. Metreaux’s signature bold and edgy design is echoed in its stylish accessory range, featuring wall-mounted soap dishes, glass shelves, towel rails and an elegant backlit mirror.
