BAHRAIN manufacturer Everest Electrical recently completed full type tests for its switchboard brand – Evertech MDB systems – which the company produces using components from the South Korea-based LSIS.

As well as using LSIS’ components for manufacturing, Everest Electrical also sells the Korean company’s products in Bahrain.

Part of the Everest Group of Companies, Everest joined hands with LSIS to conduct type testing for its switchboard which it intends to use in the country to ensure safety of electrical installations in the low-voltage category.

The full type tests were conducted for 2,500 A, 415 V/ 690 V/8 kV, 50/60 Hz low-voltage power switchgear and control gear.

The panel was tested by Power Testing and Technology Institute, Korea, and witnessed and certified by Intertek-ASTA – an international testing body – which concluded that the panel is as per its standard of quality and performance and in accordance with the latest standard, IEC 61439-2.

Commenting on the type certification for its switchboards, a spokesman for Everest Electrical said: “These will be used in different sectors such as multi-storey buildings, villas, hotels, hospitals, schools and industries, etc to ensure a proper supply of electricity and protect equipment and end-users from faults that can occur in an installation.

“Bahrain’s electrical market can now benefit from this certification and ensure a reliable supply of quality-tested panels in their electrical networks.”

A ceremony and a seminar was held to mark the type testing certification, which was attended by Mohammed bin Shaikh Ishaq, chairman of Mohammed Bin Shaikh Ishaq Group of Companies, as the chief guest; Bala Murugan, chairman of the Everest Group; Shanavaz Farooque Sait, CEO and founder of the group; Ram Raj, its director; Sang Hun Lee, managing director, LSIS Middle East; Sujit Kumar Choubey, general manager for business development, Everest Group; and Mohamed Rashid Manoly head of sales, LSIS Gulf.
