Genie SX-180 boom lift, one of the tallest models of its kind in the world, has made its debut in Saudi Arabia.

A premiere for machines in this category, the boom lift was delivered to Al Khobarbased rental yard Zoom Al Andalus Trading & Company last month by Genie, a Terex brand that offers a range from small portable material lifts to telehandlers, scissor lifts, telescopic and articulating booms.

The cutting-edge SX-180 boom lift, which serves rental customers across Europe, Africa, Middle East and Russia (Emear), opens the door to new applications in Saudi Arabia.

“For us, one of its strongest benefits is its ability to be driven at full height at a steady 0.2 mph,” said Farid Jaber, company consultant for Zoom Al Andalus Trading & Company.

“Not having to retract and redeploy the boom each time it moves provides an efficiency that will save operators a lot of time,” he added.

“The industry-leading super boom’s working height is demanded at steel constructions, maintenance and for power plants because our applications get higher and higher in this region,” said Jaber.

According to Zoom Al Andalus, in addition to providing outstanding height and outreach capabilities, the self-propelled telescopic Genie SX-180 super boom lift was chosen for a combination of market-leading benefits that make this particular telescopic boom lift model a better alternative to truck-mounted booms, cranes and other boom lift units.

“When we designed the Genie SX-180 super boom lift, we wanted to provide our customers with a solution capable of meeting the needs of end users operating in today’s increasingly challenging industrial, construction and maintenance sectors, in addition to being rapidly profitable to our rental customers,” said Carlo Forini, director of business development and product management of the US-based Terex Corporation – a lifting and material handling solutions company.

“The result is a machine that combines impressive capabilities with unique design features that offer the versatility.”
