ABU Dhabi-based Aldar Properties is planning to build a 100,000-sq-ft healthcare centre on Al Reem Island.


Burjeel Day Care Centre, managed by Abu Dhabi’s premier private healthcare facility Burjeel Hospital, at the Gate Towers in Shams Abu Dhabi will provide residents with a broad range of clinical services 24 hours a day, seven days a week.


It will house 50 consulting suites, two operating theatres, four endoscopy suites, eight recovery rooms, and eight dialysis chairs. The centre will have direct access from the Gate, Sun and Sky apartments and Sky Office as well as existing retail facilities at Boutik Sun & Sky.


The day care centre will include a specialised wellness centre and cosmetic and anti-aging clinic, as well as a pharmacy and café.


Meanwhile, Aldar Properties has announced the launch of Al Falah Mall and the expansion of Al Jimi Mall.


Al Falah Mall will aim to serve the Al Falah community development located on the east side of the Abu Dhabi International Airport and Abu Dhabi-Dubai Highway.


With 31,000 sq m of leasable area, the mall will open in 2017. It will be connected to the BRT (bus rapid transport) network.


Al Jimi Mall in Al Ain, attracting eight million visitors annually, will undergo an expansion to add another 65 stores to the existing 94 stores, bringing the total leasable area to 75,000 sq m.


The mall will be expanded to include some of the world’s leading retailers.
