Construction work on Package Two of the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre (OCEC) comprising exhibition halls, energy centre and multi-storey car park, is nearing completion and scheduled for a soft opening in the first quarter of next year, a report in Times of Oman said.

The OCEC is located within the Hay Al Irfan precinct of capital Muscat and is being developed by Oman’s Oman Tourism Development Company (Omran).

Meanwhile, construction has also commenced on Package Three, which will add one convention hall, one auditorium, two ballrooms, a food court, meeting rooms and administrative areas.

OCEC will feature two hotels which will deliver 600 rooms out of the total of 1,000 rooms planned for the entire development.

Package Seven includes a Crowne Plaza hotel, while Package Four comprises a Marriott hotel.
