Nuberg Engineering has been awarded an EPCM (engineering, procurement and construction management) contract by Emirates Chemical Factory for setting up a $76-million chlor alkali/caustic chlorine plant in Khalifa Industrial Zone Abu Dhabi (Kizad), Abu Dhabi, UAE.

The contract is a breakthrough for Nuberg since it is the only India-based company spearheading the EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) industry globally for turnkey project engineering services and solutions.

Once complete, the Abu Dhabi plant will produce 150 tonnes per day (tpd) of caustic soda and other chlorine derivatives such as caustic soda, chlorine, sodium hypochlorite and hydrochloric acid. Emirates Chemical Factory is part of Saif Al Khaili Group, a UAE-based conglomerate.

Nuberg Engineering’s managing director
A K Tyagi comments: “This contract reinforces our leadership in the UAE in an area where we have been associated with all players in the chlor alkali industry and have delivered projects successfully.
