Keller will commence piling works on the Marassi Galleria, marking the start of work on the lifestyle destination

German ground-engineering firm Keller Grundbau has been awarded a major contract for piling works at Marassi Galleria, Bahrain’s latest lifestyle shopping and entertainment destination at Marassi Al Bahrain off Muharraq.

The contract was awarded by UAE-based real estate development company, Eagle Hills, and its Bahraini partner and developer Diyar Al Muharraq. 

Keller has a 40-year history in the Bahrain market.

The piling contract milestone marks the beginning of construction on the Marassi Al Bahrain site as planned, with the project on track for delivering a unique master-planned urban development, offering 875,000 sq m of waterfront residential, hospitality, retail and entertainment space.

Marassi Galleria will be a key shopping and entertainment destination in Bahrain with 178,000 sq m of gross floor area featuring high-end retail, indoor and outdoor entertainment, a multiplex cinema, themed courtyards, food and beverage (F&B) outlets, one of the region’s most elaborate family entertainment centre, plus lush gardens and shaded walkways.

The project will have direct access to two world-class hotels and serviced residences – The Address Hotels + Resorts, comprising 160 rooms and 140 residences, and Vida Hotels and Resorts, with  110 rooms and 130 residences – which are new to Bahrain’s market.

Marassi Al Bahrain is set to become the kingdom’s premier ‘smart city’, offering luxury homes, high-end shopping, leisure and entertainment. The masterplan includes 4,500 luxury apartments and 250,000 sq m of retail space, 300 branded apartments, a 93,000-sq-m central park, a 2,000-sq-m sales centre, a 2-km stretch of sandy beach, and a range of restaurants and cafés.
