Hitachi Construction Machinery Middle East (HMEC) has appointed Middle East Crane Equipment Trading (MECET) as its full line dealer in the UAE.

Under the deal, MECET will provide sales and after-sales services of Hitachi Construction Machinery as well as Hitachi Sumitomo Crawler cranes in the emirates.

The agreement was signed by HMEC president Hidefumi Sameshima and MECET director Jos Luyckx, in the presence of HMEC general manager Piet van Bakergem and MECET general manager Wim Aernouts.

MECET, a 100 per cent subsidiary of the Luyckx Group, was established in 1952 in Belgium. The company is scheduled to open its new one-stop 10,000-sq-m facility in the Dubai investment centre near Al Maktoum International Airport for sales, service and spare parts by the end of 2017.
