Gulf Industry Fair 2017 (GIF) breaks new ground when it opens this month (February 7 to 9) by hosting two major forums that will highlight Bahrain’s key role as a conduit for industrialisation in the GCC.

The GCC’s industrial B2B (business to business) showcase will host the India Business Partnership Summit on the first day (February 7 at 2 pm), which explores potential investment opportunities between India, Bahrain and the GCC, with the intent to further trade relations. Bilateral trade between Bahrain and India is worth more than $1 billion.

The summit is led by senior vice-president of the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry Anil Khaitan, who will be bringing a delegation of 30 businesses and entrepreneurs to the GIF. Indian companies attending the summit include Packraft Container India, Elektromag Devices, Maxmech Equipment, Swastik Furnaces, Green Planet Technologies and Satya Group.

“The summit brought to us by PHD will play a practical role in Bahrain’s plans towards attracting foreign companies to take advantages of its strategic location for the Northern Gulf,” says Jubran Abdulrahman, managing director of Hilal Conferences and Exhibitions (HCE), the event’s organiser.

PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s delegation of companies will also be exhibiting at the Indian pavilion at GIF.

The Bahrain Industrial Association (BIA) and Gulf Industry Fair will present the GIF Dialogue: Future of Industry in the GCC on February 8, at 10 am. Officials from the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, Majaal, PHD Chamber, Economic Development Board (EDB), National Academy for Professional Training and BIA will come together to discuss issues surrounding regulations  to stimulate industrial development, foreign investment opportunities, industrial facilities, industrial economic outlook and training for industrial needs.

GIF will be held at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre under the patronage of Bahrain’s Prime Minister, HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa.
