Crystal Lagoons wins Egypt deal

Crystal Lagoons has partnered with real estate developer Tatweer Misr to bring idyllic beachfront living to the $117-million Fouka Bay in Egypt.

Fouka Bay has been designed in collaboration with  Italian architects 5+1AA and enjoys a prime position along the coastline of Ras El Hekma. It features luxurious residences and an 800-m beach. The project is expected to be completed by 2022.

This is the second contract Crystal Lagoons has signed with Tatweer Misir, the first being a ground-breaking project in its flagship Il Monte Galala in Sokhna, which will see the development of the world’s first mountain lagoon.

The lagoons are said to use 30 times less water than a golf course, of the same size, and fewer chemicals than a traditional filtration system.

 

 

$16m dialysis centre on track

Work on a dialysis centre at Hunainiya in the Southern Governorate of Bahrain is on track with about 35 per cent of the project completed.

The BD6.1-million ($16 million) centre is funded by the Saudi Development Fund as part of the Gulf Development Programme and is being constructed by Aradus Contracting & Maintenance.

The main building comprises two levels with a capacity to accommodate 60 beds. 

 Presently, work is under way to complete the structure of the main building, the substation, the services building and the external works on site.

 

 

10 Design unveils seafront project

Egypt’s Inertia Properties and 10 Design, a lead design architect and landscape designer for high-end residential projects, have unveiled the masterplan for Jefaira, a seafront residential development in Egypt.

The masterplan contains 10,000 to 12,000 residential units spread over a 550-hectare area, supported by a comprehensive and diverse range of community facilities including schools and colleges, a sports academy, swimming pools, and a health and wellness centre. The project, being developed by Inertia Properties, stretches 3 km along the seafront with natural beaches and cliffs forming a unique topography.

Oman Gas starts pipeline work

Oman Gas Company has started work on laying a 221-km-long pipeline between Saih Nihyada and Duqm for the transportation of natural gas.

The construction contract has been awarded to an Egyptian company, reported the Times of Oman quoting Lee Chee Khian, the chief executive of the Special Economic Zone Authority Duqm (Sezad).

The free zone has attracted some $11 billion in investment for various projects, including a major refinery and a series of industrial ventures by Chinese investors, Khian said.

 

 

Siemens wins Jordan order

Siemens has won a contract to supply two steam turbines, air-cooled generators, and a turbine control system for Attarat steam power plant in Jordan.

The contract was awarded by China’s Guangdong Power Engineering Company, which is building the facility for the operator of the plant, the Attarat Power Company.

The plant will be built in the desert at Attarat Um Ghudran, 100 km southeast of the capital Amman. The efficient use of scarce resources, especially water, is a critical challenge to provide a reliable power supply for the local population and economy.

The plant will start operation in mid-2020 and will feed up to 470 MW to Jordan’s power grid.
