Work on the Riyadh Metro is proceeding at a steady pace and so far 57 per cent of the project is complete, Prince Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Abdul Aziz, acting Riyadh governor, said.

The project will enhance Riyadh’s position among the most advanced cities of the world, Prince Mohammed was quoted as saying by an Arab News report. Prince Mohammed, who is also the vice-chairman of the Higher Committee for the implementation of the King Abdul Aziz Project for Public Transport in Riyadh.

During a visit to the site, he was briefed on the developments and on the security and safety arrangements of the project.
